Matthew Beal started the business in the early 1980s, taking on roofing work around Chelmsford and the villages of central Essex. His son Joe joined him and the two of them have been working together since. These days it's the two of them plus a small trusted team, all based in Stock, a short drive from most of the county.

What hasn't changed in 40 years: you ring us, you speak to Matt or Joe directly. No sales team, no call centre, no subcontractors turning up in someone else's van. The people who quote your job are the people who do it.

We've worked on everything from a handful of slipped tiles on a 1930s semi in Billericay to full re-roofs on period properties in the Essex villages, using reclaimed materials, traditional lime mortar, hand-cut flashings where the building needs it. We're fully insured, we give honest quotes, and we won't recommend work that doesn't need doing.
